Reader Meter (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our app interacts with and handles user data, specifically through the use of the Google Cloud Vision API, camera access, and images stored on your mobile device. We collect the following types of data through the app:
Image Data: We access the camera or image library on your mobile device when you choose to analyze an image. This allows us to extract text from the images for instructional assessments.
Extracted Text Data: The text extracted from images may be temporarily stored for processing purposes and to deliver results back to you.
We do not collect, store, or process any personal information other than the image data and the extracted text required for the core functionality of the app.
We use the data you provide for the following purposes:
Text Extraction: We analyze the images you provide using the Google Cloud Vision API to extract text, which is used for instructional assessments and educational purposes.
Instructional Use: The extracted text is used primarily by teachers, tutors, and parents to assist in educational assessments and activities.
We do not share your data with third parties except under the following circumstances:
Google Cloud Vision API: The images you submit are processed through Google Cloud Vision API to extract the text. Google’s Privacy Policy governs the use of data within this API.
Temporary Data Storage: We do not store the images or the text extracted beyond the immediate purpose of analysis. Once the analysis is complete, the data is deleted from our systems.
We take reasonable precautions to protect your data. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure.
Consent: By using the app, you consent to the collection and use of the image data and extracted text for the purposes described in this policy.
Policy Changes: If we change how the app accesses, uses, stores, or shares data, we will notify you and seek your consent for any new uses of your data before implementing those changes.
